At Serendipity Bridal, we've always say the same thing to our brides: Be you! Fully, unapologetically, and without compromise. Because your wedding day isn't about becoming someone else. It's about feeling like the most 'you' version of yourself.
Let's Talk About Our Bodies (because they're incredible) Our bodies are amazing. Not in a cliche, throwaway way, but in a real, powerful, life-sustaining way. Sometimes, that includes the things that support us day to day. The things that help us live well, stay healthy, and feel safe in our own bodies. You may have seen the wedding of Jack Whitehall and Roxy Horner recently. Want to know what stood out most to me?.... Roxy wearing her diabetes sensor...visible, unfiltered, unedited, and completely unbothered. No attempt to disguise it. No photoshopping it out. No making it something it isn't. Just part of her, and that felt quietly powerful. For anyone living with a medical device, whether that's a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), insulin pump, stoma bag, or anything else. That kind of visibility matters more than people realise.
It's Not About Hiding - It's About Choice. When brides come to us with medical needs, the conversation is never about "covering up" It's about: What feels comfortable What feels practical What feels like YOU Because yes, there are options. Different placements, styling choices, dress adaptations... Those choices aren't about hiding. They are about what works for your body and your day. For some brides, that might mean working around a device, for others, it's not even a consideration and that's exactly how is should be.
Representation (Even When You Don't Realise It). One of our Real Serendipity Brides Faye, found us in a way I'll never forget. She came across one of our models on Instagram wearing a diabetes monitor. No big announcement, no statement, just there as part of her. And that was enough. Faye told us she had never seen that before, never felt represented like that in fashion or bridal. The funny thing?.... I hadn't even thought about it. To me, it wasn't a 'moment.' It was just part of who she is. But that's the thing about representation, you don't always realise how powerful it is until someone tells you they finally felt seen.
The Dress Was Never About Hiding. Faye chose Cupido Cute found in our Serendipity Bridal Boutique designed by Rembo Atelier and whilst it is a long sleeved dress it was never about hiding her Diabetes sensor, for her she wanted a dress that felt like it was 'The One' but not to cover anything. Her only consideration? Access. And I think that says everything. Because when you feel confident, comfortable, and accepted - you make decisions from a place of ease, not insecurity.
Bridal, But Make It Work For You. At Serendipity, we are here for the brides who want to do things differently. The ones who want comfort and style. Practicality and personality. Fashion and freedom. Whether that means: Adapting the dress to suit a medical need Choosing something that allows access Or simply wearing everything exactly as it is, without a second thought We'll help you navigate it. Without pressure, without judgement, and always with you at the centre of it. Your wedding day doesn't require you to shirnk, soften, or hide parts of yourself. It asks you to show up. Exactly as you are. And that includes every part of your story - visible or not.
